Lisa Moore performs in Shostakovich’s Cello Sonata in D minor and the Kegelstatt Trio by Mozart.
This concert also features Seven Romances on Poems by Alexander Blok, both searing masterpieces from a dark episode in Russia’s history. In this concert they are offset by Mozart’s playful tribute to bowling (or ‘skittles’), and a new sonata by the Belgian composer Frank Nuyts. Hear how a cheeky song about a cockroach became the battle cry for the Mexican revolution.
