“TIME FLIES”

Virtuosi Kate Stenberg (violin) and Lisa Moore (piano) unite for a special concert on December 18 at the innovative San Francisco Center for New Music. Not since an unforgettable 1989 summer festival in Idaho have these two musicians performed together. Living on opposite coasts, yet remembering their unique bond, Stenberg and Moore re-connect and join forces – combining powerful duos and solos inspired by memory and flight. Time Flies presents works composed by Philip Glass, Somei Satoh, Bay Area’s own Amy X Neuburg, Michael Gordon (Bang on a Can co-director), Martin Bresnick (celebrating his 70th birthday) and the Australian composer Kate Moore – the west coast premiere of her Sliabh Beagh (‘borderlands’) for a singing pianist.
